I have been with Vodacom for as long as I can remember. I am due for an upgrade, and when I called the call centre to understand what plans were available for me, it was as though I was talking to an automated computer. Essentially I am not able to upgrade on my package to a different phone (from Iphone to Samsung). Right now I pay R450 for 100 sms, 500mb of data, and get 120 anytime (and 20 weekend minutes). I was told I would need to pay R500 for 140 minutes, 300 mb of data and 300 sms. I send maybe 50 sms's a month - this would be a waste. Who sends sms's these days when everybody is on smart phones?!?!? I explained this to them, but yet I get an automated-like response of what my package offers and what the other does. I felt like I was going around in circles. Essentially at the end of the day, I should either pay more for less to get an upgrade... or dont upgrade in order to maintain the package that suits me. This feels like an absolute rip off to me. Think its time to start looking at other service providers because this it no longer feels that the customer is put first, and that they just want your money. Shocking.
