Dear Vodacom
On 11 November 2013, I registered via Vodacom website to pre-register an iPhone 5s as my contract is already due for an upgrade.
The registration process was easy and I was pleasantly surprised when a call center agent called me to assist.
Mid-way through the process I asked, if I renew my contract would my existing minutes that have accrued be credited to my account. I was told that they wouldn't be, as the contract that the iPhone 5s is available on wont allow for my minutes on my existing contract to be migrated.
This I find very difficult to believe, currently I am on a iPhone 500 contract which costs R925 per month and is inclusive of 500 minutes, 500 mb of data and 100 SMS, on my registration I opted for the Smart XL package which was R999 for 400 Minutes and 800 mb of data, surely if I migrate / upgrade / renew on a package similar to my existing package the minutes should carry across? I understand that if I was downgrading to a lesser package then I would forfeit these minutes.
I look forward to someone assisting me on this matter.
