My airtime held hostage

I was in areas for three months and managed to pay R 7092.11 to bring my account up to date. I was aware of the line being disconected so I went into their customer care centre bought a new sim and then was told I dont get the airtime of the three months I have now paid for and if I do not reactivate all the cards which is R285 per card I will not get the the airtime in future either. I wanted to activate only the one card that I get airtime on and still pay my account till all the cards are up for upgrade so I can cancel them and go to pay as you go, they do not want that they want me to pay about R1400.00 then I can use my airtime.
I don't see why I should reactivate cards that I am not using, and I was prepared to pay the ridiculous amount of R285 to reactivate the one I use but now they keeping my airtime hostage and I forfeit the last three months as well.
