Still trying to activate my new sim!!!

Please could someone assist me in the activation of my new mtn micro sim, I am a new customer and have phoned the activattion line a few times now and everytime it I enter my ID number and Sim number it tells me to hold for the operator and the call cuts off, This is so frustrating!
