No contract activation!!!

I got a new contract with Vodacom from Vodaworld yesterday. I was told the micro sim will activate as soon as my old sim goes off which it did within 2 hrs. My sim on the new phone has remained unregistered since yesterday. I left it off for the night and this morning still no connection. I called the 'customer care' line and got hold of them after 32 minutes only to be told to call the 'activation number' 0821945 that I have been calling since 8h06 and this is now 8h51 and still holding!!!
Is there an on-line service or another way of getting this line activated as I use this line for work and I am literally out of touch!!!
