I called the Vodacom Call Center upgrade line (0821959) on Friday, 7th June 2013, at around 11h00 to apply for a mobile upgrade.

The upgrade was approved and the call center agent promised that my new handset would be delivered on either Monday, 10th June or Tuesday 11th June, as my application was done on a Friday and their couriers don't do deliveries over weekends.

My new handset was not delivered Monday, nor Tuesday as promised and naturally I called the courier company (RAM) to find out what the hold up was and they informed me that my handset was still with Vodacom.

I then called Vodacom, upon confirming my cellular number, their voice prompt said my handset would be delivered on the 25th of June. At this point I selected the option to speak to a call center agent, to whom I made my dissatisfaction known. I told him that it was unacceptable that I was being given the run around with the delivery date of this new handset and had I been given the correct information I would have opted to go into one of their walk-in stores and did my upgrade there.
