Last year my phone was, I went into the Vodacom Shop in Bayside Cape Town and was told I could do a premature upgrade. As I spent over R800pm and it was 13 months into my current contract I qualified. I was told I would continue to pay for my phone as the contract was not yet over, I would then also sign a 2 year contract on my new phone.
So for the last year I have paid for my old phone as well as the one I am currently using. As it has now been 13 months since I did the premature upgrade I have asked if I could do it again as I also spend more then R800pm. To my surprise Vodacom has told me I now have a 36 month contract, something that I was NEVER told and from what I know is also illegal.
I will now only be able to upgrade next year and my contract expires in 2015, I have never in my life heard of paying for a phone for 3 years. I find it completely unacceptable that not only was I not told in the first place but subsequently have been told that there is nothing I can do about it.
This needs to be sorted out and fast as I have given up with the Vodacom Shop Tygervalley.
