Vodacom
Sim swap

My husband and I are running a Driving School business in Oudtshoorn, last week we received a call from a guy stating he will one of our contact numbers that we use for business unless we give him money we tried to tell him where to get off. Friday morning an sms was received on the number (0720644630) that someone is trying to do a sim swap if you're not trying to do it we should contact 082111" and we did and explained that someone had threated to do a sim swap on the number, . Same sms came in late friday, called vodacom again after 30 minutes the number was gone when we called the number the guy who was threatening us was answering. He asks new clients who call in to query about the driing school to deposit the funds at shoprite/ checkers money market and we DO not operate like that, the client come to us after seeing the sevices we offer then make the payments at our offices.
We reported the matter at the Odtshoorn police station on saturday (25/05/2013) the captan who was on duty said he could not open a case until there is proof that the person took stuff from us (funds).it will be a week and the number still works, we've lost a lot of clients who fell for this
