During a telephonic upgrade to the Smart M Subscription in February 2013, I specifically asked if the handset is an additional charge. It was confirmed that for the BackBerry Bold on my contract there is no extra charge (replacement of what I had), only an upgrade to the I-phone will result in handset charges. I accepted the offer. In March I realised that I was billed R 100 per month for the handset. I logged a complaint with Vodacom end of March telephonically, no feedback received. I visited my local store in Brooklyn Pretoria, they said Vodacom Direct is a separate entity, my only option is to log a complaint here. Being a Vodacom customer since the nineties I though that was unprofessional. It is not the money, it is the approach followed to secure the next 2 year contract. Beware of Vodacom Direct and their sleek telephone sales approach, you may be taken for a ride.
