Yesterday I was lucky enough to be called by the MTN call centre. Upon answering, the lady did not even give me her name and then started telling me about an offer that MTN had for me. I said my cell phone contract is actually under my mother's name, I am not interested and then I ended the call. Within seconds the lady called me back. Without greeting me she asked if I work, again I said I was not interested in the offer and ended the call. She called back AGAIN and this time I answered and left the phone at my side until I had seen she had hung up. She then called me a fourth time and here is the gem- I said hello and her response was "Chantelle, are you? ", I said what?! And again she said "you speak like you are " and then put the phone down. I tried to get gold of a human being at MTN but apparently you cannot do that unless you call the head office which I did. Then a charming young woman put the phone down on me because I was through to the sales department and "what must she do about it". I then emailed MTN on FB and got a generic reply saying if I want to be taken off the marketing list I must reply yes. How about an apology somewhere MTN?!
