I tried to contact two MTN service centres to inquire about the availability of stock to upgrade. The numbers were sourced from the MTN website's store locator. I tried two numbers for a number of times, but none of the calls were answered. I then dialled the 808 customer service number and held on for 50 minutes. Once an agent responded, I was informed by her that service centres do not take calls. Why are they listed in the store locator? I was transferred to MTN Direct, but never got the opportunity to speak to someone because the call was ended abruptly by MTN.
The irony is that I am currently working on stakeholder relations, specifically investor relations and MTN was listed by Forbes as the third biggest company in South Africa. Pity it does not reflect in their consumer relations.
