At the moment I have a contract that I don't want. I was contacted in February by MTN to take out a contract phone. I took it as I have been trying to get a contract, but it is very difficult if you work for yourself and do not have 3 months of payslips. I specifically asked the telemarketer if it would be possible to change my VODACOM prepaid number to the new contract MTN number as I run a business from that number (ALL my marketing material and clients have that number). Yes sure no problem. When I receive the phone I can go and do it anytime that suits me at a MTN shop. I have tried to have it done at your MENLYN branch, where I was told its impossible to do (I have my contract number for life and cannot be changed). Just to ask the ATTERBURY VALUE MART branch which said it might be possible and sent back to MENLYN as only they CAN do it. Only to read on the MTN WEBSITE it can be ported. So what is it now. Can or can it not be done? I would like this matter to be sorted out as I feel I joined a contract I do not want and was offered a service no one up to date cannot, might or can offer.
