Since about the middle of April I've been experiencing problems with my ADSL.
My account is at Telkom Internet and I have the 1Mbps capped package.
Every download (files or YouTube) gets timed out randomly after 2%, 30% or
maybe 80% of the length of the file. The modem stays initialized/synched and the
Internet connection is not interrupted.
There is no possibility to download a complete file.
The lines were checked and found to be in good condition. Resetting the port
hasn't helped either. The strange thing is if I use my Afrihost account on
the same computer and modem every download runs perfectly.
The complaints I have with Telkom Internet are only the time-outs of downloads.
The connection speed and throughput are OK.
It doesn't matter which server these files are originating from. Right now I
switch to my Afrihost account just for downloading files. This is an absurdity.
If this time-out problem can't be solved within a weeks time maximum I will have
no other option but to cancel my Telkom Internet account and go for Afrihost.
Afrihost told me Telkom probably has to check my account/port. But nobody at
Telkom is of any help so far.
