I have just had a telephone line and adsl uncapped 1 mb internet installed from telkom despite many people telling me that telkom is the worst isp, my reasoning was that i wanted one billing invoice at the end of the month not one from MWEB and one from telkom., I decided to give them the benifit of the doubt, 3 weeks later i find the line to be so incredibly slow downloading anything above 10 mb is impossible
skype sessions fail because line speeds drop too low making it imposible to use. The strange thing is browsing is unaffected but as soon as i download the line speed suddenly drops as if i am being throttled.
To date i have not managed to download anything significant enough to even warrent a throttled service as it has been impossible to download. A technician came out informing me that the line is fine and that i would probably just have to live with this speed as many people do. My friends and collegues using Mweb are downloading torrent files spanning entire series, movies and large media files with out a problem and myself paying the same amount cant even download a large mp3,
steer clear of telkom
I will be cancelling soonest and be moving to Mwe
