I signed a contract with the gym and they told me that it was for 12 months, i didn't get my contract on the same day as the consultant told me that the manager was not available to sign it so he will call me to come and collect the contract and he never did, i went to get the contract then i saw it was for 36 months i told them i didn't know and that i wanted to cancel.they said a was given 5 days after the contract was signed to cancel but the contract was with them at the time.i did a research on consumer act and it says the cannot be a contract that exceed 24 months but they say that doesn't apply to them.they don't want tot cancel my contract and i am not using their services but they keep debiting my money, i don't want to go to the gym as i feel they are not practising fair business practise because the consultants to me to get me to sign and i signed out of an impulsive decision and now i cant cancel the contract.
