I signed a contract at Plant Fitness Soneike on the 14 of September 2011. I signed this contract with Charlie. I lived in Stellenbosch and work in Brackenfell, when I went to see Charlie (the sales person) to enquire about a gym membership, I told him that I might need to relocate in May 2012 ad there is another job opportunity in the pipeline, I asked him how the contract will work. His answer to me was that the contract can be cancelled after 6 months of debit orders with no cancellation fee, if I want to cancel before 6 months however I will need to pay a cancellation fee. I asked if he was sure an he said yes definitely, he even mentioned that according to the consumer protection law I am legally allowed to cancel my contract.
So i signed the contract and cancelled my contract after the 6 months, but apparently Charles no longer worked there and they did not know about thew 6 month contract etc. I have send numerous email to Errol the manager to try and sort this all out, but he just stopped replying. When I phoned he was busy.
Now 2 years later they want the outstanding money from me
