I purchased a 47" LCD tv from Makro, happy to fork out money for a brand that offers a 5 year warranty.
I assumed that if something went wrong, Makro would honor the warranty and all will be well. That was NOT the case at all. What followed was a "pass the buck" and "to and fro" debacle.
I sent the unit in for repair (REF 2137348) in March. I was advised it could not be repaired and will be replaced. The replacement unit given to me on 6 April was in worse condition than mine and had a problem on the screen similar to my one.
Back to Makro On 8 April (REF 2141668) to book the replacement unit in. I receive the same tv back on 18 April and this time asked to test it in store. NOTHING was done. The unit was faulty exactly the way it was when I booked it in. THIS WAS THE REPLACEMENT!
Booked in again (REF 2143553) for repairs. The staff actually have the audacity to say that it's Sinotec's problem and not Makro!!! I didn't purchase from Sinotec. I purchased from Makro!!!
The shrugging of shoulders and attitude is ridiculous. Do any of you realize how difficult it is to cart a 47" tv to and fro???
I am still without a tv from March and I have no clue what is coming my way next.
