I received the following unsatisfactory report from RED BULL:
"Our involvement in this particular event was limited. The event was not an event run by Red Bull South Africa but rather a 3rd party event by an event organiser. We supported this event with a Red Bull DJ desk (just the desk, without sound) and product. Unfortunately, we have no control in the running of such events and therefore are not able to control the noise levels. "
In other words RED BULL is like an arms dealer. It supplies the guns but not the bullets and then bears no moral responsibility for what happens using its products. This is a cop-out.
RB knew that a rooftop party using its Branded DJ System WILL cause noise pollution but displayed wilful blindness. Was it because the surrounding residents are all black? and 99%of the noise polluters are white.
Why be associated with an event that grotesquely infringes on the rights of thousands of people; whilst a few hundred spoilt kids have fun? RB needs to take into account the effects of noise pollution. Just because an event is being held in a city centre does not mean the people that reside there are not human!
