Upon payment of my monthly groceries of my monthly groceries me and my wife was appproached by a secruity guard and said we have to go to the security room. This being very embarrassing as it was infront of shoppers. When we got to the security room my wife was asked what did she take from the floor as they have footage that something was taken from the floor and placed in her handbag. The handbag was then searched and nothing was found. I then demanded to view the footage and when viewing the footage it shows that she was on her cell phone a minute before that and has placed her cell phone in her handbag.
The lady at security then explained that she cudnt correctly see. After the humiliation of being accused for it was the fault of the security cameras and the people viewing the footage. In future there should be a correct way of handling these situation if the footage doesnt show clearly what had happened. "Not asking the customer what did she take from the floor" This is not the way a major outlet should be controlled. I have always chosen checkers instead of pick n pay etc, but as of 01 April i will never shop at a checkers again.
