Shoprite
CUSTOMER INJURED AT STORE

My mom went shopping at the store on 4 Dec 2013 and slipped and fell because of a wet floor. There were no signs to warn customers that the floor was wet. She hurt herself and her clothes were soaked. The security guard who saw what had happened did not offer my mom help until my mom screamed for help. The assistant manager said the floor was wet because their fridges were faulty but the cleaners were supposed to dry it before the store opened. They sent my mom home because the store manager was not in yet. My mom had to walk to the main road to get a taxi while limping from her injuries and in her soaking wet clothes. She was very embarrassed and in pain. Long story short, to date Shoprite had still not contacted my mom or offered an apology to her. This is REALLY bad service and after numerous calls to the store & headoffice, the problem is still not resolved. My mom is still in pain and Shoprite hasnt paid her first doctor's bill yet. Let a product fall from the shelf and see how quickly the staff responds, but its not the same case when their customers get hurt, the one's who pay their salaries. It is frustrating to see a pensioner in such pain, still unable to walk properly.
