On 26th June a aproximately 1.30pm I was shopping in Shoprite Wynberg, I passed the bakery counter and slipped on a piece of potato chip (french fry) To prevent from falling and landing on the floor I managed to control myself hurting my back in the process. moved slowly to find a supervisor or manager of the store and reported this to a Miss. S. Arries. She in turn called store manager Mr. L. Groenewald. He (.Mr. Groenewald) sauntered casually towards us and turned to where I showed him the spot where I almost slipped... and said but there's nothing on the floor after the cleaner had picked up the chip from the floor. Miss Arries told me to go to the doctor and send the bill to them. She gave me no form or anything. After I told her she accompanied me to a doctors surgery in the complex and the receptionist said she couldn't help me without cash which I did not have. I asked for Shoprite Head office no. to report the matter and a young lady named Lee-Ann told me that they cant do anything I have to go to a doctor and send them the bill..She also told me I have to pay for the doctor.
