My 10 year old daughter lost her newly purchased cellphone in Canal Walk on the 31st of December which was purchased at Totalsports on the 22nd of december. The male shop assistant was helpful, but the female asisstant at the till who was "servicing" me and another customer at the same time, was unfriendly and too consumed with chatting with her colleagues. My daughter was beyond excited at her first cellphone and i took for granted that all the necessary paperwork was done. I explained to the manager on duty, Leonard, that this lady hardly spoke to me and never explained any of the terms and conditions and no where in the time that I spent in the store, did she ask me whether i wanted insurance on this purchase. They couldnt find my paperwork in the store at the time and after I left the store, one of the shop assistants then came outside to inform me that they had found the paperwork, i didnt have insurance, but then he sarcastically tells me that even if I did have it, I still would not have been able to claim because there is a 3 month waiting period. Whatever happended to professional etiquette? why wasn't I asked whether I wanted insurance or not. I'm extremely disappointed.
