Won't pay claim due to error from their stores

I upgraded my cellphone in May and dutifully went to Edgars in Adderly str to inform them to please change my insurance to the new phone. No problem, they say, they'll file the paperwork. (I also informed them, that yes, I know my phone is worth more than insurance would pay, but I want it changed anyway)

My phone then got and now Edcon's insurance is saying that the phone on their system is my old phone!! What the!

How am I supposed to get proof from a shop, 3 months later, that I did ask them to change my insurance details? The famous words of "I don't know" is what's happened. Even the store that I filed the insurance claim with, hasn't filed the paperwork for the claim. Goes to proof that clearly, Edgars is NOT a paperwork filing kinda place.

Now I'm left with no phone and useless insurance that I've spent thousands paying over the years, but can't even use!!!
