My watch cost around R2, 500.00 in 2010. I had the glass replaced and a new battery fitted a year ago.
Last month the watch stopped keeping time, Shocking, as I'd only had it for 3 years. Is it naive in assuming a watch in this price range should last longer than that?
S. Keren Watch Group in Greenpoint booked the watch in for me on the 22/11/2013 and were meant to let me know what the problem was. Needless to say I never heard from anyone until I called them today. I was told my watch was ready (not having known what was fixed or whether it was something I was supposed to pay for) and that I was informed by VOICE MAIL a week earlier.
I then went to the branch where I was told that they had moved (would have been nice to have been informed over the phone!). At the store I was told they replaced the movement and it would cost me R600.00 (out of warranty). My new warranty was only 6 MONTHS on the replaced movement.
Should anyone trust a watch brand that only just outlasts it's warranty period and then only offers a quarter of the warranty on their ORIGINAL REPLACEMENT PARTS. I've had cheap watches last >5 years and I've lost all faith in the quality of Fossil products. BAD Show!
