The incident happened on Wednesday 13 November, outside Edgars entrance on the 2nd floor between 19:20 & 19:30. I was walking towards Edgars and noticed the d? cor enticing someone to 'doing something you've never done for the first time' and assumed that it meant that you can open the door. I walked towards it to open the door and when it didn't open, I proceeded to walked away.
The security guard came towards to ask if he could help me. When I told him that I didn't need help, he told me that I am not allowed to touch that stand. I explained to him that I walked away and didn't insist on opening the door. He started being rude and shouting at me and when I tried to walk away he refused to let me go.
He proceeded to shout and call me a " stupid women". When my mother came to calm the situation. he continued to scream and shout and proudly admit to insulting me 'because I deserved it'. When I asked this man to give me his name so I can complain, he refused. I then took a picture of him with my phone.
I have sent a letter of complaint to both Fidelity and Sandton City Mall. The Mall has not responded and Fidelity claims its not their staff, rather that of Edgars store.
