On Tuesday 23 May 2013 I handed my 4x4 in to get it's suspension bushes replaced by my local service agent and I asked them to drop me at the Goldfields Mall whilst doing the service because I do not live in town. I saw the new advert on the web for a Trail Tech Weather Proof Jacket (R599.99) that Mr Price Sport was doing and thought I would head over there. I had my laptop bag with me and was walking around the mall, a very pleasant experience at all the shops... until I tried to enter the Mr Price Sport store... I was abruptly told that I must leave my laptop bag (containing my laptop, gps, and other valuables on the floor next to the door (entrance) by the staff member manning the door at that point. I was refused entry to the store because I refused to leave my valuables lying on the floor next to an entrance door (unguarded, as the security counter was at the other side of the door and no visual contact could be made with the items if someone walked through the entrance). Obviously I refused to do this and rather left the store. Could they not have just searched the bag, or offered to walk with me through the store, rather than making me feel like a criminal and refuse me entry?
