I went to Pick n Pay and purchased groceries. Upon payment i gave the teller my RCS card as an acceptable form of payments according to their adverts. My card and ID were subsequently given to the supervisor and then she made a phone call of which no one answered. I was only then informed that when paying with a RCS CARD there is verification that needs to be done before payment can be processed. With the phone call not being answered i was told that they could not help me if the verification cannot be done.
As a customer I'm not against the verification that PnP had to do as it also protects me, what i felt was unfair customer service was the fact that no notice was given to me when I reached the tellers about the rule, regulations and implications of using RCS cards after a certain time. There should be some form of notice to inform the customer about rules when using a certain form of payments. For the above lack of notice i had to use money that i was not planning to use.
