Payment on Dual card

I'm posting this on behalf of my mother who went to the cape town branch in Adderley street to pay her account. Once she came to the teller/cashier, she was told she need to update her details on the card, and they will not accept the payment. She then told the lady that she usually pays just like that as she and her husband shares the same card. NB: she did not receive any form of notice from Edcon saying that they will implement this new rule. Also, if my mother makes a late payment, they want to be on the phone quick and easy asking you to pay. My mother then went to the Vangate branch, the guy at the till, then took her ID number, verified her details and accepted the payment. Why couldn't this happen in the CBD branch? its ridiculous to think that not all cashiers have the same training and helpfulness. Disgusted with the staff at Adderley street.
