Nightmare for credit card verification

Trying to do an online purchase from UK. Vendor needs card verification. New Card was verified 3 months ago, after much hassle, but now apparently requires verification again. After 3 days, two visits to the bank, and several online consultants we've given up. Each one says they'll pass us over to another consultant to talk us through. I have this low limit card purely for online transactions, which are few, but it's a nightmare. I understand the need for security, but when it impinges on the use of the card - and we are both computer literate people - it's a farce. FNB - how can we help you? YOU CAN VERIFY MY CARD! NOW! AND KEEP IT VERIFIED!
