Why pay for a replacement (not reading) card?

I have been a Woolworths client for many years. My Woolworths card is therefor very old and worn. So much so that it does not want to swipe anymore. Apon requesting a new one, I was told that it would take 4 to 6 weeks to replace and that it would cost ME R50!! This is just rediculous! I would think after all the money I have forked out over the years that it would be decent curtesy for Woolworths to replace this at no cost, after all, it is not my fault that the card does not want to read! I will just have to shop at another shop now!
