Woolwrths Card damaged takes a month to replace!

My son has an additional card on my husband's Woolworths account. He is a student in Capetown and relies on us for money. He has had a Woolwrths store card for about 2 years(?). This allows him to buy food and take advantag e of any specials. Two weeks ago he was told that as the magnetic strip on his card was not working he MUST get a replacement card. He applied and then had his "old" card destroyed as he was told he could not use "both" even though the new card was not yet ordered. He was told it would take 2 weeks and they would contact him. Yesterday he was told it will take a month and that the card will be posted to us in Pretoria. He may not have a temporary card either? What is he supposed to do in the meantime? Please can you come up with a workable solution!!!
