OFF LINE FOR GIFT VOUCHER SALES

I am utterly dissappointed with Woolworths. I went to Woolworths The Redds today, Thursday 24 January 2013, with my husband and 2 children to do shopping. I was in the store for about 30 minutes and got groceries for us. When I came to the till to pay, I was told that all the stores in South Africa is off line and that I could not use my gift voucher. I had only brought the voucher with me, not my handbag with my purse. I was humiliated and had to take my children out of the trolly and had to leave because "the whole South Africa's systems with off line" as per Stanley.
How is this? There were not notice on indication that I could not buy with a WOOLWORTHS gift card... I had to tell my children, that we need to leave the food and drinks and that they cannot get the yoghurs for school etc. I was humiliated and are very disappointed and cross. How is this for bad customer service. If you are off line, LET YOUR CUSTOMERS KNOW BEFORE!!! THEY START BUYING!!! It seems that you Woolworths, then don't need my sale. I will let all my friends, family and people I get in touch with know, that they must NOT buy any WOOLWORTHS gift cards, because, obviously they do not care. disappointed!
