I bought 2 cellphones from Edgars Eastgate on 2012/12/03, a Nokia Asha and a BlackBerry. After using the BlackBerry for 3 weeks, it started giving me problems by just switching off. On 2013/01/10, I took the phone back to Edgars Alberton and demanded a refund or a new phone. They refused to do either, and informed me that all that could be done, was to take my phone to the Vodacom Repair Shop. Not having any choice, I took the phone in to the Vodacom Repair Shop in Alberton. After a few days, I was informed via sms, that the phone had to be sent to the "Advanced" Repair Shop. On 2013/01/18 I was informed that the phone is fixed and that I could collect it, which I did. However, after sending the 3rd BBM, the phone switched off by itself, just like it had done before! Nobody fixed or tested this phone!
I called the Store Manager, Shaun Shellys on 2013/01/21, who said he would get the Cellphone Manager to call me the next day. This did not happen. I called again the next day, and was put through to Glen Mayimele-went to see him the same day. Promised to get a driver to take the phone to BlackBerry and get me a replacement. Did not happen. Now, Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
