Sunday 11th August, I went with my wife to Truworths at The Glen to buy a dress she had seen. There was only one dress her size, but it had a tear on it.
We approached a staff member at the tills and asked if a dress could be shipped in from another store. We were asked if we had an account, when we said no, we were then told that they can't help us. When my wife asked that because we don't have an account, we are not considered valued customers. The reply from the staff was YES WE ARE NOT.
We called the manager, who confirmed the statements/sentiments of the staff member. We then asked if we would get discount if we took the torn garment - the manager said NO.
We left the store feeling that the staff at the shore did us a big favour just to assist us. Their attitude left much to be desired.
I will go to great lengths to inform family and friends of the treatment & "helpfulness" received at a Truworths store. And as of Sunday Truworths WILL NOT be part of our shopping experience.
