Our family purchased a Genesis Hydrovac Plus machine in October of 2012, the machine frustrated us endlessly with poor suction power and unreliable performance: Verimark had to replace the motor of the machine after only 6 months under warranty; this was after we noticed a metallic, burning smell coming from the machine. About a month after the replacement, we started noticing the same burning smell. Yet again the motor seemed to be burning out. Of course, our demand for a refund on this product was flatly denied. Considering the comparable costs of vacuum cleaners sold by more established vacuum manufacturers, this is unfortunate. It appears that the machine is useless and does not perform as expected. The suction power is weak, and the motors cannot seem to carry even a moderate amount of use. In store, another customer told us that she encountered similar problems and had to replace the machine's motor at her own cost after the warranty had expired. Unlike the comments by the staff, who appeared to blame the fault on us, we maintain that this machine is a poorly designed product and does not perform to expectation.
