Pick 'n Pay

Placed an order on Tues for delivery Thurs - slot 9-12. Delivery to take place at office where I am only on a Thur. No home shopping at my home in Harties. At 11:30 called call centre who then informed me that Mulbarton was having a problem and running a day late due to thieving home shopping staff that were dismissed. The call centre called branch and manager promised to deliver by 3pm. At around 14h30 I had a call from call centre to tell me that the branch was now having TECHNICAL issue and couldn't deliver. Told them to cancel and had to do all my shopping at SUPER SPAR on the way home from the office and then give all the work groceries to someone else to take them back to the office.
Why was the order taken if they knew there was a backlog and why didn't the call centre bother to phone and tell me that the order was not going to be sent!!
Bad customer service and with the result, I will rather shop elsewhere!
