I went to this particular shop earlier today to buy some supplies. I was initially surprised to see such long queues with over half of the tills not being attended to. I waited patiently in the line (in agonizing pain-Had dental surgery yesterday and needed to buy some food as I had to take meds).
Half an hour later a couple of tills were opened nearby and we were informed that those were for people collecting SASSA grants. When I reached the front of the line Xoliswa (Counter 10) rudely told me that she won't serve me as she is only giving out grants and we (paying customers) were supposed to use other counters (counter 1-5) to make payments. I remained in the line as she left to collect money for the grant (thats what I picked up from what she was mumbling). She came back a few minutes late, furious as on the fact that I was still in the line. She yelled at me and swore about how thick headed I am (she used a few times) and proceeded to scan my goods and proceeded to snatch money from my hand (I had R300-she took out R200 and game me the change). In her fury she neglected to scan one item hence the less cash that I had to pay. The rest of the customers were told to leave!
