I bought my new Ford in Pietermaritzburg, where the on site Netstar representative assured me that the system would be ready and working when I picked the car up 2 days later. On picking up the car, she briefly showed me which remote button to push, explaining that everything was now activated. A week later, when I went to get my other alarm installed, I found that not only had the representative gone on leave and NOT done ANY of the paperwork, meaning I was not on the system, she didn't even have my cellphone number. Hours later, a call centre agent takes all our details.
two weeks later, now in Johannesburg where I desperately need my alarm, my father's number is the only one on the netstar system (not even my registration plate comes up!!) and he now has received 2 erroneous calls about my car, one of which meant I had to drive all the way across joburg because I should 'probably just check it out'. I cannot get through to the call centre to update my details, and my call is dropped while on hold waiting to test my unit.
So now I am terrified that I have no tracker, and am sitting with a useless panic button that is nothing but a false sense of security.
Thanks altech.
