On Monday my Alarm keypad/board was damaged by lightning and can't be activated. I made a call to the call centre to have a technician out, only to be told that the first available appointment is for Monday the 27th of January. This is totally unacceptable, as I had a break in on the 14th of December while we were in the house, I'm single mother with 3 kids and my alarm is essential. I'm out of town for the weekend and I don't have an alarm that is working. Firstly I was told if the technician comes out to check the system the call out is R462 and no after hours calls are done for faulty systems, only break-in damage. After complaining today I was now told they will come out after hours, but the cost is R568. I apparently have insurance should the system have to be replaced to the value of R1700, but the call out is not covered. This is the second time that I have this EXTREMELY POOR service from the Technical Department of ADT. I regret of ever changing companies! You are in contract breach as you can't assist me to have a fully workable alarm. My insurance will not insure me without an alarm and therefore if they break into my house this is for my cost, what about my kids safety?
