Poor alarm design & poor attitude to custoners

My alarm started beeping at 2am, kept me awake, and couldn't be stopped. The battery was low I discovered from the keypad. At around 9am we phoned ADT and the technical people told us how to stop the problem. We did that, and the beeping continued. After a second call to ADT we were told that we needed a new battery, that there was no way to stop the beeping, that we'd have to pay overtime rates to get a service call today, or that we could buy a battery from their offices on the other side of town This I did, and the receptionist said that the way to stop the beeping is to pull out the plug. Why couldn't we be told this in the two earlier phone calls, and what a stupid design that from which the beeping can't be turned off, while the alarm is still active.

Poor service and advice. And a second-rate keypad design.
