POOR WARRANTY

I have an alarm installed with Chubb - last week one of the sensors started playing around and i contacted them to come and have a look at it. Sorry was the reply - we can only have someone there on Monday. So for a whole week i was unable to activate my alarm as it kept on going off during the night. Today i confirmed if the technician will be there and if seeing it is September i will qualify for the free lighting protector and i am told that "sorry that was only till last week" when the sms i received clearly states it is a special for the month of September. Now i am told that the sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced when it is just on a year old!!! R725 later! What kind of products are we purchasing when these sensors can go faulty this quickly? It makes it impossible for anyone to afford an alarm system as next month another sensor can go faulty and i will just have to pay again? How convenient that they always go faulty just as they go out of warranty! Money making racket if you ask me - making money off people who fear for the safety and have to have alarms!
