On Friday 3 January, my husband and I went to Ster-Kinekor in Parow Centre. I gave my Edgars Club card to buy the tickets - the assistant swiped it and nothing happened. She told me that my card was faulty. I told her it was impossible as I had swiped it on Sunday, 22 Dec at Cape Gate and it had worked. The assistant then called the Manager (Nadeen Venter) and she also swiped it several times on another machine and nothing. Nadeen then goes off to the office and comes back with a whole bunch of replacement Edgars Club card - she tells me that she needs to disable my current Edgars Club Card and issue me with another one. I told her that she must not disable my card, but she does so anyway. The new card she issued me with, also does not work when swiped. Nadeen then says that she will give me the discount, but I must go to an Edgars branch to have it activated - Really? I go to Edgars at N1 City on Saturday, they call head office and they are surprised as to how SK can just hand out Edgars Club card replacements - only Edgars branches are allowed to give replacement cards? The service at Parow Centre SK is horrendous - it's non existent - really slack.
