Durbanville Municipality has cut off our water today, completely, which is a violation of basic human rights (they may only RESTRICT the water flow, this is in provinsional, national legislation and in constitution as basic human right). This is second time now, last was in feb. They said we were in arrears. We have 3 properties and only one was in arrears. We found out only now that someone has changed our account and the address where the it was to be sent without our consent. So the account has been sent to the wrong address including the notice to restrict water unless payment made. But they got the address right to cut off the water which does not make sense to me at all. We all work full time and get home late so going in to sort it out personally is not possible as they only open working hours. I am appalled also by the call center operators as they don't understand why you are agitated and cut you off without warning. I was never rude or difficult with them.
