South African Police Service
Noncompliance to Batho Pele & SAPS Service Charte

I went to SAPS Hatfield police station to certify documents, on my arrival (12h35) I sat down and waited to be called to get assisted, hardly 3 minutes, another police official by the name of Constable Ratshiweni started yelling at me saying I must go out because he can't see where the queue starts or ends. I went out without responding back joined behind the people that found me there, after everyone was assisted, I was called by him, got there, submitted my documents. He then said *I don't have to have see the originals, only the copies as the queue was long* I said but I'm always asked to produce the originals, He responded by saying, you know what I will only certify 5 copies and I'll take you back to the end of queue because you claim to know too much, I said it's fine, he did just that, I went again at the back of everyone and was assisted by other Sergeant who did that without complaining or knowing what had transpired earlier. I thought the SAPS code of conduct was *to cooperate with all interested parties in the community & rendering an effective service of a high standard which is accessible to everybody*. I don't appreciate being bullied at public service centers at all.
