I went to the SARS Branch in soweto on the 16th of October 2013 to update my banking details. A week after i had been there i received a letter stating that i had to update my banking details. I phoned the call centre and i was informed that my details were scanned into their system and that i should wait for 21 working days to lapse and my details will be updated. When i followed up 21 working days later this had not been done and was told that the matter would be escalated to the relevant department. Almost 2 MONTHS later the banking details have still NOT been updated and i am now told that i have to go back to the branch to update them.!!!

I missed 2 days of works and made countless telephone calls to follow up. SARS SOWETO is useless and WOULD NOT advise anyone to go there. I am extremely irritated as i am still waiting to be refunded. Amazing how are we are forced to pay tax and receive legal threats if we do not comply yet the SARS staff cant do a simple thing like update banking details. This is just ridiculous!!!
