Friday the 26th Jul 2013, I visited SARS offices at the Dube branch to submit my tax returns for the year 2012 & 2013. After submitting I was told that I am under audit and need to submit other doc's (Proof of residence, Banking details and certified ID copy) for the audit to proceed, which I did on the 31st Jul 2013. On the 07th Aug 2013, I contacted SARS call centre to find out how far is the audit and was told that I need to re-submit the doc's again as they don't appear on their system. The next day I went back to the Dube branch to re-submit. To my frustration the SARS Dube branch confirmed that the doc's are on the system and don't need to re-submit again. On the 21st Aug 2013 I recevied an SMS from SARS saying (Notice Issued on SARS eFilling). I contacted SARS call centre to find out what the SMS is about, only to be told that I need to submit doc's for the audit again. I told them that I did but the consultant was adamant that the doc's are not on the system. I don't understand what business SARS is running here. There must be something sinister going on here. Please assist.
