I applied for a vault birth certificate on 8 August 2013. I followed this up on 30 October 2013 by sending a complaint to the Public Protector and was advised that my complaint had been forwarded to Home Affairs Reference Number: 1310/052/735. I was advise to check again in three weeks. I checked on 20 November 2013 and was again advised that "that the case is still in process at Head Office and we wait for further correspondence from the processing office. We have forwarded another note of urgency via the case and should we receive a response, one of our consultants will contact you". When I asked how long I should wait, I was told another two weeks. This is completely unacceptable service.
