Having got all my documents ready I visited the Benoni office where there was a queue a "mile" long. Instead of of taking your name and ID No. and giving you a number so at least you know where you are in the queue you are told just to wait in the queue. I left in disgust. I did write to their head office to find out why you cannot claim through the Internet I was told it is not their policy to do that and you have to call at the office. In this day and age it is ridiculous that this cannot be done over the Internet. Actually the first time I went I went to the Germiston office when I got there they told me it was offline and had been for the last week and was re-directed to Benoni that was 6 weeks ago and I had to go back on the 2nd August with this affidavit which I did today that's when I found their was this rather large queue, so I just left and being a government dept you can get no sense out of them.
