SARS Bad Service and Robotic responses

It seems I'm not the only one who's received sms from SARS saying that I owe them ridiculous amounts of money dating back to 2010. Monies which were never communicated to me before and yet for some reason, the sms received is a "Reminder".

It seems that SARS has been going through some sort of "clean up" or fishing expedition and all over people are complaining about this.

Just today a colleague tried to get to the bottom of an "owed amount" for a total tax income which she never earned to begin and noone, absolutely noone was prepared to listen to her as the robotic answer was that there was a programme which never made any mistakes.

To the commissioner, this is unacceptable. We do understand that you want to get as much money from people as you can, but in this instance, something is not right. Your people are rude, disrespectful. Those programmes were created by people, who uploaded some sort of formula which horror of horrors, might be wrong. My colleague tried to explain that she had been employed 4 months of the 12 months, but was told that the calculation was for income for 12 months. They refused to listen. 4 different all with the same answer.
