I took a 1996 Mercedes Benz to Car Service City in Randburg. Don`t be fooled by the massive R595-00 with small "from" underneath. Having looked up on a price chart I was told the service price was R1495-00, and anything else would cost more. I asked specifically about a diagnostic report on the car and told them what was happening to the car. They happily took the vehicle without any mention of a problem.
Later I received a call saying I needed brakes on all 4 wheels and a new vacuum pipe and other things. I declined. When fetching the car, no surprise, when I was told Head Office don't supply franchises with a diagnostic tool to test the car, so it wasn't done. Sorry that we cant actually identify the problem, but take your car somewhere else for a diagnostic report..
If I was told this upfront I would have gone elsewhere, because without it there is no way to know what`s wrong or service the car property
To add insult to injury, pay an extra few hundred rand because we sprayed two cans of carb cleaner into the car to try and stop the problem even though we don't have equipment to identify the problem.
Best of all on trying the foot hand brake, later it hasn't been adjusted.
